What We Believe

God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" Genesis 1:1

"Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God." Psalm 90:2

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." 1 John 5:7

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father. Jesus was made flesh, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless human life. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will soon return to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords.

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Matthew 1:23

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins" Matthew 1:21

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1

"I and my Father are one." John 10:30

"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." John 8:58

"...God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 Timothy 3:16

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14

"...and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." Matthew 24:30

"And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. " Revelation 19:16

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for the Lord Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." 1 Corinthians 3:17

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment" John 16:7-8

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." John 14:16-17

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" 1 Corinthians 6:19

"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," Ephesians 1:13

The King James Bible

The Bible is God's Word and the supreme source of truth for man. It was recorded by men under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. God has preserved His Word for us in the King James Bible which is complete, infallible, pure, accurate, and without any error or contradiction.

"The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." Psalm 12:6-7

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

"...let God be true, but every man a liar..." Romans 3:4

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17:17

"...the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." 2 Timothy 3:15

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Psalm 119:105

"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him" Proverbs 30:5

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

Man

Man was created by God in complete innocence in a perfect environment, but of his own free will, chose to sin against God. The result of Adam's sin is not only physical and spiritual death for all mankind, but the fall also endowed upon all mankind a sinful nature. Therefore, all people are sinners, not only by constraint, but by choice, and are unable to regain their former position of innocence, and are under just condemnation without defense or excuse before a Holy God.

"...of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Genesis 2:16-17

"And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat." Genesis 3:12

"Unto the woman he [the LORD] said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." Genesis 3:16-19

"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way..." Isaiah 53:6

"...we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" Romans 5:12

Salvation

Salvation is God's gift to whomsoever will accept it, paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross at Calvary. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement, outward acts, or good works. Only by trusting in the blood of Jesus Christ can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn to Jesus in faith alone we are saved.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."  Romans 5:8-9

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace" Ephesians 1:7

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:8

"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:3

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us..." Titus 3:5

"..to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Romans 4:5

"...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." Acts 16:31

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" John 1:12

"Once Saved, Always Saved"

Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot "lose" it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort or human works of the Christian. Our security rests solely upon the grace and keeping power of God.

"My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." John 10:29

"For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." 2 Timothy 1:12

"By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." Hebrews 10:10

"For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." Hebrews 10:14

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time" 1 Peter 1:3-5

Eternity

God created every human being with an eternally-existing soul. All who are saved will spend eternity in Heaven. All who die without being saved will spend eternity in everlasting punishment in a literal Hell.

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:18

"...these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." Matthew 25:46

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

"And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night..." Revelation 14:11
